SCOPY spots cleverly combine working light and room ambience
RIBAG SCOPY Spots

Where fine baked goods used to be served over the counter, customers now find relaxation and well-being with their beauty treatments. The architectural firm Burkard Design GmbH has redesigned the premises of the former bakery on Bahnhofstrasse in Küsnacht (ZH) and converted it into a beauty salon. The result is a modern ambience that radiates harmony and elegance. RIBAG lamps not only ensure homogeneously illuminated work areas, but also contribute a great deal to the feel-good atmosphere.

A round multifunctional piece of furniture in the center of the room serves as a customer reception area. This area is framed on the one hand by an inviting waiting area with a product display and on the other by three pedicure chairs. An elegant wooden floor radiates warmth and comfort. This is combined with a sand-colored floor covering, which forms an island around the reception area. Armchairs and chairs are kept in similarly soft and light colors. As a decorative design element, three champagne-colored VERTICO pendant lamps effectively accentuate the waiting area.

The salon also comprises three treatment rooms with changing rooms and showers. The walls are finished with a dark, contrasting filler with incorporated metal particles, which reflect the light and create a sophisticated shimmer. «Materials and their structure only come into their own in combination with good lighting», says Ricardo Burkard, the interior designer in charge of the project.

SCOPY provides perfect accent lighting

As hardly any daylight enters the rooms, lamps were needed to create a pleasant ambience. «Due to the different requirements of customers and employees, a clever combination of 'working light' and 'light for illumination and room atmosphere' was required», says Ricardo Burkard, formulating the requirements for the lighting concept. This should provide pleasant, glare-free light that does not cast shadows on faces during treatment.

The SCOPY Spot, which won the Design Award 2024, meets all these requirements. The organically arranged, focusable lamps blend subtly and lightly into the design and impress with precise light control and high brilliance. They ensure homogeneous illumination of the work areas and set the scene for the walls with a fascinating interplay of light and shadow. Thanks to its ability to swivel and tilt, the lamp collection has the necessary flexibility should the furnishings be rearranged.

SPARK and RAYM downlights direct the light precisely to the desired location with their high-precision reflectors. The recessed lamps not only impress with their high level of lighting comfort, but also with their sustainable energy consumption.

«We have had the pleasure of working with RIBAG in the private sector in the past. The result and the cooperation convinced us and motivated us to tackle further projects. The high quality of the products and their durability are further characteristics that we and the electricians greatly appreciate. Thanks to the expert advice we received, we were able to meet the high demands of the client of World of Bonnie and offer an incomparable feel-good experience with a unique lighting concept.»
